We control light at the nanometer scale (and even smaller) by using nanostructured metals. This has allowed for trapping and studying single nanoparticles, such as proteins. We work on THz, biomedical and quantum technologies. Our research has been funded by NSERC, HFSP, CFI, BCKDF, Innovate BC, Genome BC, Western Economic Diversification, Mitacs, Vertex, Biomark, Canada Research Chairs and other funding agencies/companies.
